Trap Selection Analysis

Traps are selected based on many factors such as media pressure, discharge volume, back pressure, etc. It is important to choose the right trap for the trap, not the expensive one. Traps are an energy-saving valve product, so the energy savings and increased production efficiency from choosing the right type of trap, especially a high-quality trap, will be dozens of times greater than the investment required to purchase a trap. Here is an analysis of trap selection for different media piping, but the specific type and diameter of trap to be selected depends on specific parameter calculations.

For trap selection, the requirements are high sensitivity, accurate steam stopping and draining, no steam leakage, ability to improve steam utilization, reliable work performance, high back pressure rate, long service life, and easy maintenance are the conditions.

1, in the production process of heat exchange equipment, drying room, rapid heat exchanger, distillation equipment and other production heating equipment that requires rapid temperature rise and does not allow the presence of condensate, mechanical traps should be used.

Mechanical traps are unaffected by changes in operating temperature and pressure, so they can be discharged as soon as water is available, and the subcooling is small, so that no water is stored in the heating equipment and the heating equipment can reach a good operating temperature. 3、On high temperature and high pressure superheated steam pipelines and equipment, special traps for superheated steam should be used.

Superheated steam traps can separate the high-temperature condensate generated when superheated steam disappears under severe conditions of high temperature, high pressure and small load. Among them, disc type steam insulation type traps use piping steam to insulate the main steam chamber of the trap, with advanced structure, and the trap closes tightly in the absence of condensate, with high working quality and long service life, making them special traps for high pressure superheated steam.
